Judy was born in Dayton, Ohio to Clarence and Shirley (nee Barker) Hull on September 11, 1939. While raising her family, Judy had been an employee at NCR. In her formative years, Judy developed the creative skills that would carry her throughout life. She was recognized for her melodic voice and artistic flair. As a growing child, she thrived with the dancing and singing opportunities available to her as she attended Belmont and Fairmont Schools. Her passion for dance guided her to become a celebrated ballroom dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studios. She was also a talented singer who performed as part of a trio and won local singing competitions taking her all the way to New York. She was always active in the community and was a recognized volunteer at local health clinics. She also loved her work at a local gift shop in town. Her kind nature helped her develop many warm and lasting friendships.
Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Shirley Hull, and nephew, Sean Hull. She is survived by her husband, Paul Terry, and four children; Tammy (Mike) Roach, Tanya (Mark) Harrison, Elizabeth (Manny) Chopra, and Christopher (Robyn) Terry. Her heart’s joy was watching her grandchildren thrive and prosper. She is survived by twelve grandchildren; Tara (Brian) Clayborn, Tiffany Sands, Betsy (Tim) Copley, Travis (Joy) Harrison, Zachary (Lauren) Harrison, Meghan (Tyler) Adams, Priya Chopra, Kasey Chopra, Nicole Moore, Edward Moore, Chloe Terry, and Jamie Terry. Judy was subsequently blessed to have twelve great-grandchildren; Ella, Ava, Madison, Hattie Mae, Adeline, Ryleigh, Tucker, Layla, Wren, Declan, Kynlee, and Rowan. Judy is also survived by her brother, Allen (Judy) Hull, and nephew, Kevin Hull.
The family will greet friends at the visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 25th, at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, Dayton, OH 45432. Pastor Randy Warner will be officiating the services for the family. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Shoup Cemetery in Beavercreek.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Heartland of Beavercreek and Heartland Hospice for their considerate and loving care for Judy. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Judy Terry’s name to the American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, or Heartland Hospice.
We treasure every moment we had with our “Nonnie” and will deeply miss her presence. We take great comfort in knowing we will see her again one day. Until then, we carry her love and hold her memory close in our hearts.
