Karen Henderson, age 71, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2020 in Tennessee at home with her husband at her side. Karen was born on October 26, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Tony Edward(Faye C.)DeMent. Karen married Ross Henderson on July 14, 1990 at Beavercreek Christian Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. She lived in Dayton, Ohio before moving to Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 2004.
She is survived by husband Ross Henderson; Daughter Alicia Hill; Son Jason Hill; Grandchildren Xander Hill, Kynon Ruchalski, and Kasidy Ruchalski; Great-grandson Keegan Wilder; Sisters Deborah(David)Black, Cheryl(Mike)Vinson, and Carol DeMent. Preceded in death are her parents Tony Edward and Faye C. DeMent.
Karen was a member of Beavercreek Christian Church and Church Office Manager until 2004 when she retired and moved to Oak Ridge Tennessee with her husband Ross Henderson. Karen and her husband Ross have been attending Morrison Hill Christian Church in Kingston, Tennessee. She was a member of Arissa Garden Club and PEO Chapter R while living in Tennessee. Karen loved growing and working with flowers, taking care of her stray/adopted dogs and cats. She was a godly, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and daughter-in-law/caregiver to Ross' mother (Dorothy Henderson, deceased). Karen loved the Lord and is now with Him for eternity and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive family and friends Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Beavercreek Chapel; where service will be held 11:00AM Friday, August 14, 2020. Burial to follow at the Valley View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John O'Leary, Darrell Beavers, Shawn Black, Michael Black, Dale Vinson, and Cory Bernard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Hospice of Dayton, or University of Tennessee Medical Center Hospice Services.
