

PAUZAR, Karl L. LTC AUS RET. Passed away peacefully on November 3, 2015. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 17, 1923, the son of Karl L. Pauzer and Nellie (Whalen) McCarley who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean (Brooks) Pauzar, cousin Robert Seifert, his pets, Tippy and Slick, many friends in the U.S. and Europe. Karl never met a stranger. He graduated from Chaminade High School in the class of 1941 and attended Ripon College in Ripon, Wisc. He entered the Army in January 1943 and served 32 years active and reserve. During WWII he was with the 14th Armored Division under General George Patten and was one of the liberators of Mosseburg Prison Camp and Amphing Concentration Camps in Germany. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. Karl retired from GM Harrison Radiator Div. as an Electrical Group Leader. He began his volunteering with the City of Centerville in 1967 as an auxiliary Police Officer and later with the city. A Volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital Emergency Room for over 10 years, Kettering Hospital in the Emergency Room and with Mended Hearts. He was also a member of the Centerville VFW Post 9550, and the Reserve Officers Association and the 14th Armored Div. Liberators. He and Jean had many great trips together to Canada, France & Germany and the U.S. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, OH 45420 from 2-4 pm Sunday, November 8, 2015.
