Born on April 24, 1954 in Duluth MN, she was quick to tell everyone to call her Kathy. She is the first daughter of Floyd O. Woods and Joanna B. Woods, who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Keith A. Woods, and wife Mechel; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Samuel, Elisabeth, and Bethany; two sisters, Rebecca J. Woods (Dennis “Buck” Gifford), and Diane M. Woods (C. Terry May); her brother, Floyd “Woody” O. Woods, Jr.; her honorary sister, Millie Weirts (Jim); her nephew, Ryan D. Woods (Lauren Zuniga); grandniece Ryleigh Woods; aunts and numerous cousins.
Kathy had a strong faith and love of God which was fostered as a member of St. Helen’s Catholic church. Most recently she volunteered as a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister.
Kathy was a long-time member of the international women’s organization, Beta Sigma Phi, where she earned the degree of Laureate and held many offices over the years. Her last chapter was Xi Kappa. She earned many awards including Silver Circle, Order of the Rose, chapter Woman of the Year, and Valentine Queen. She was a true sister and always ready to volunteer.
When she was younger, Kathy was an avid CB radio operator. She also enjoyed compound bow archery. Kathy was named Top Shooter Women’s Release Moveable Sights at the 1999 Summer Jamboree and earned second place in other competitions.
Kathy loved God, her family, especially her son and grandchildren, and her friends. The family wants to thank all who sent cards and visited Kathy these last months as well as the staff at Village at the Greene who cared for her.
