

Distl, Kristen L. (Kelly), age 48, of Cedarville, OH passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Dayton on April 1, 1967, the daughter of Larry G. and Judith Alene (Scully) Kelly, who survive her. In addition to her parents, Kristen is survived by her husband of 11 years, Anthony Distl; two daughters, Rose Campbell and Vicki Louderback; two step-daughters, Tracy Distl and Angie Distl; two sisters Lauren Kelly-Davis and Allison Kelly. She is also survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Helmut and Chris Distl and her loving nieces and nephews. After obtaining her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Capital University in 1995, Kristen worked for many years in the justice system serving as an attorney for the Legal Aid society and as the Magistrate for the Domestic Relations Court of Greene County, often advocating for children in difficult situations. Kristen then made a career change and returned to school, earning her BS of Nursing from Wright State University in 2012. Since childhood, Kristen had a passion for horses and was an accomplished rider, especially enjoying eventing. Since 2006 she has owned and operated Cedar Springs Eventing Stables. Kristen held a tremendous love and passion for animals and was actively involved in animal rescue her entire life. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kristen to either The Greene County Humane Society or an Animal Rescue of the donor's choice.
