

GOUBEAUX, Laura “Pauline” (Frey) nee Wolfe, Age 90, died peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon C. Frey, 1986, and Richard J. Goubeaux, 2011. Pauline graduated from Roosevelt High School, 1939, and cum laude from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in Education, 1963. A Martha Holden Jennings Scholar, Pauline taught at E.J. Brown Elementary, Dayton Public Schools, for 25 years. E.J. Brown students often said “I hope I get Mrs. Frey for my teacher.” She was a member, Beavercreek Lionesses, board member, Corner Cupboard Charities and a founding member of Precious Blood Church in Trotwood. One of 10 children, Pauline is survived by sisters Barbara Little, Englewood and Sandy Dowler, Miamisburg; children Karen (Richard) Weber, Villa Hills, Kentucky; Michael (Deborah) Frey, Pensacola, Florida; Laura (Al) Fike, Kettering, Ohio; and Christiann Frey, Independence, Kentucky. Also surviving are grandchildren Brian Eblin, Kettering, Ohio; Erin (Brad) Abbott; Doug (Kellie) Best; Kevin (Christina) Best; and Nicole (Jesse) Caldwell, all of Kentucky; Jonathan (Siobhan) Frey and Jessica Frey of Florida. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the caring staff at Sterling House of Beavercreek and The Hospice of Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45429. A liturgy celebrating her life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
