Larry is survived by his wife Joan of 52 years; two sons and their families: Jason and Carolyn Speicher, Brian and Cassie Speicher, and grandchild Tyler Speicher. Also survived by four sisters, Barbara, Pat, Bette, and Sharon.
As an Air Force Veteran Larry served his country for 21 years in active duty, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sargent, and an additional 22 years as a civilian. He became a fixture at the Ohio Renaissance Festival selling for Bridgit’s Bath as the big Scotsman.
Beyond an Airman and Scottish Soaper, Larry was the family archivist, enjoyed Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying games, and lifelong pursuer of knowledge. Above everything Larry would consider his greatest achievement by far was becoming, “Poppa”, a surrogate father and grandfather to his son’s friends and their families.
