Kaylee Letter Part 1 of 2

Dear Grandma, 
    Grandma I love you so much, and words can’t describe how much I love you. You used to see and watch me everyday, and when I got older and started doing more sports I didn’t get to see you as much. I don’t think you understand how much I think about you and miss you when I am away from you. I also don’t think you understand how bad I felt not going to see you once a week, and I knew that you knew I would always come back. We have so many great memories together, and my favorites are when would spend hours upon hours playing with each other, or when you were about to go into the hospital so you could get into Bethany, and you knew that we weren’t going to be able to see each other everyday anymore, so you started singing there’s a hole in the bottom of the sea. I never said goodbye though, I always would say bye I love you, I will see you later. It never is truly a goodbye it is always a see you later. The days I didn’t see you I thought about you and could feel your presence. I knew you were always there for me and I remember you saying that if I ever needed to cry you would sit there and listen to me cry, and if it was late at night and I needed to cry I could call you and you would sit there and listen to me cry. The one day I came to visit you I cried a lot and you would not close your eyes even though it was time for bed, that’s when I knew you were going to keep that promise for the rest of eternity. I’m going to miss you so much, even though I know your presence is always with me, I wish I could give you the biggest hug. I can’t do that now though. I wish I could give you the biggest physical hug any time I want, but now I have to wait.

Letter From Kaylee Part 2 of 2

I wish I could feel your warm touch and hold your hand, but now I have to wait. I’m not mad at you and I never will be it really sucks that I won’t be able to do that for a really long time now. You are home nonetheless, so I hope you’re having fun with your family, sitting on the porch swing, and eating candy corn. Please watch over the rest of us. Bye I love you and I’ll see you later, love,

    Mom - I will do my best to honor your wishes to keep the family together and to raise happy, healthy, well adjusted children, who have the understanding of God’s Love and Grace.
     Mom - you are simply the best, better than all the rest! I love and miss you! Save us a spot on your Heavenly porch swing.

Linda’s Eulogy Part 3:
When mom started to get sick she told me a story about her and her mother of when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She said that her mom told her: I don’t want your pity and I don’t want you to feel sorry for me or for yourself. I am proud of the life I had and who I raised. Mom said Jennifer you have to do the same. I do my best to respect her wishes and as her disease progressed; I looked for ways to remind myself of her. I did not have to look far - I would look at her grandchildren. The grandchildren who she wanted to be with every chance she could get. All of them represent her 
in many ways but in individual unique ways for me. Damien with his kindheartedness to help others and be there for his friends. Lexi in her ability to listen and be patient. Theo in his quiet observation of others before jumping in. Noah with his welcoming smile. And Kaylee, no I didn’t miss you! Kaylee’s relationship with her grandma was very special since because of her age and living so close, she had the opportunity to be around her more. Their relationship reminds me so much of my relationship with my grandma - the yearning to be around her, to learn from her, to build a strong relationship with, and to love her. At different times in different occasions I will watch Kaylee and just say to myself my mom does that or my mom thinks like that. Kaylee reminds me the most of her personality; the way that mom could analyze and process what was happening in front of her and make that quick decision of how to handle it properly. This is why I know that her first instinct is to put all the emotion from this in a box and just shut it and store it but I know Kaylee learned from her grandma that it’s better to reach out to others even though it’s hard and know that day by day it will get easier to live with.

Linda’s Eulogy Part 2:
Mom helped show me that as black and white as my world was that the world is full of grey too. To learn from the grey and respect each other’s differences.
    She had the instinctive ability to deal with what is in front of her. In elementary school, I had trouble just grasping the concept of reading. I was tested and found out I had a learning disability. There was never a point where we asked, why us? She would say these are the cards we are dealt and looking at the positive side we set up steps to move forward. We would spend hours learning and trying new techniques to see what would work for me. My mom fought for me, she wanted me to have all the opportunities I could out of life and not let this hold me back or be a reason I could not do something. These growing struggles helped me later with assisting with her care. I fought for her as she did for me. 
    I knew that my parents were an ultimate team and special but what I did not fully grasp until college was how truly loving and accepting our parents are. But this shined though after my freshman college spring break. I came home with my softball team from Florida and all the dorms were closed. So the team did not have a place to go for one day. My parents and sister were out of town for Ashleigh’s spring break. So mom and dad said just to come and stay at the house. So the whole softball team, I think there are 13 or 14 of us by that time came to my parents house. As we walked in the door we were greeted with a note, I don’t remember exactly what the note said but it was to the effect of enjoy your night and have a good dinner on us with 200 dollars left on the table. Now for me this was not the first occasion my parents have done some thing like this. But for my teammates it left a lasting impression that they still talk about today. My parents were able to make everyone feel special and important.

Linda’s Eulogy Part 1:
          Good morning everyone, thank you for coming to celebrate my mom’s life. As I began to write this, I became overwhelmed with how to put my mom’s awesomeness and impact in to words then I though wait that’s Pastor Carey’s job-so, Good Luck Carey!
     I have lost two of the most important people in my life in less than three years. I have to say it’s pretty devastating.  It is not like an ESPN top ten list where a person can just be replaced. We all have our own top ten list of special people who make us who we are and want to be.  When one has left it takes two or three to try and make up for the support that one original person has provided but it never feels the same.
    My mom was the best mother for me and my sister. She was the ultimate teacher. She had the ability not only to teach us and guide us through our lives but to be a constant example of what she had taught us. She lead us though life’s obstacles with kindness and patience. She always knew what the right thing to say was. She created for us a safe space to talk and learn, to discuss our options and ways of how to handle whatever challenges we faced.

Dear Gary,
     Marylou and I regret Linda Lou's passing. She was a great wife and mother for you all. We hope God's mercy and peace give you and the family comfort.You are in our thoughts and  prayers

She always came thru the drive thru. She was the kindest person I have ever known.

Prayers to Gary, girls and their families.

I'm sorry to hear of Linda White's passing.  Once I put White with the first name I knew who she was.  She was a Stebbinette as the drill team was known.  Since I was in the marching band we shared football games, parades, and practices.  I'm not sure we were in many classes together.  But I believe Gary was in the band as was I.  I am sorry for his loss.  I would guess they were together for over 50 years!  Ron Schilb. PS I played snare drum with the band as well as the base drum.

Dear Mom,

    God loves me so much to put you in my life. No words can express how proud I am to be your daughter. I love being your daughter; I know sometimes I am difficult, but you are great, always being there for me. Mom, I see myself growing more and more like you each day. I find myself doing things you would do all the time and I love it. I am thinking about what to say, how to say it, and if it is beneficial to me in the long run. Thank you so much for your patience. I am so thankful that you were always helping me on my homework and you are still helping me with my papers. I would be lost without you. I am so glad you are my mom. You are always around and at everything we do. I appreciate how much you care and worry about us. I know I give you grief about always asking me about life and how things are, but I would not have it any other way - it shows how much you care. I am so proud that you taught high school kids for thirty years. I don’t know how you did it - you have so much love and want to teach everyone. I do not know how you do everything; you are always in the run. Mom, my favorite time we spend with each other is when it is only the two of us in the car and we just talk about whatever. It is our time and that is what I missed most when I started driving. Now I appreciate it more than I did before. You are always so supportive and motivating. You can always make me laugh. You are always there when I need you most and are a great listener. Mom this little passage I just wrote to you will never put into words how much I love, adore, and appreciate you. I know that it does not tell you everything I love about  you but you have so many qualities I cannot write about all of them. In addition, you will never know how important you are to me. Thank you so much.

My Mom is loved and greatly missed but  living in God’s eternal glory with no pain and suffering. I imagine mom catching up with her parents and sister on her heavenly porch swing.

I'm so sad to learn of Linda's passing. I saw the tell-tale sign of the courtesy cart outside of her room that my mom had. Your dedication to her was wonderful and I'll miss seeing you when I visit my dad, Tom.
Take care of yourself. You are in my thoughts.

Linda was the most selfless person I have ever met. She never hesitated to put everyone else’s needs and comforts before her own. She was always willing to do anything she could to help someone out even if it meant changing her own plans. She helped to raise her grandchildren by providing them daycare and being as dependable as could be. She could handle any situation in a calm and soothing manner and help to keep others calmed as well. I am blessed to have known Linda for over twenty years. She will be missed and never forgotten.  I know she will be as much of a blessing to heaven as she was on earth.

Gary, Jen and Ashleigh, you are all in my Prayers.  I know your hearts are broken. She was such a wonderful friend and neighbor. We had a lot of good times with the grands going to the Boonshoft and Chuck E Cheese. She was a special friend to me and I will miss her dearly.
