

During her Dayton school years, she enjoyed frequent trips to spend time with her maternal grandmother, Thelma (Kemper) Wagner, on her farm in Harveysburg, OH. She had a lifetime of fond memories from those visits.
Linda grew up in Dayton, OH graduating from Kiser High School in 1967 as Class Valedictorian. While at Kiser, she was a member of the Pantherette Drill Team.
Linda then went on to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY where she earned a BS in Education in 1972 and MA in Education in 1975 both with honors. While at Eastern, she was one of 38 seniors chosen to be in the Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges for 1971-1972. She was also a member of the Little Colonels Drill Team.
On July 20, 1973, she married her husband of 51 years, Larry Farmer.
She was a stay-at-home Mom until her 2 children both became school age. She began her working career with the IRS in Covington, KY in 1985 and remained there until retiring in 2009.
She and Larry moved south for warm weather in retirement spending time in Hernando, FL, Flagler Beach, FL, and finally in Dallas, GA.
Linda had numerous hobbies to include horses, horse racing, sports, dogs, cats, camping, beaches, gardening, cooking, sewing, and pool parties. She loved hosting pool parties for family reunions, the neighborhood, and her and Larry’s coworkers. She and her family had a lifelong passion for attending the Kentucky Derby each year beginning in 1963 and it took severe circumstances to keep her away. She was an avid UD basketball, UK basketball, and Denver Bronco football fan.
She is survived by husband, Larry Farmer of Dallas, GA, son, Clayton Farmer of Kennesaw, GA, daughter Joy Farmer of Louisville, KY, sister, Molly (Van Oss) Quackenbush, brother-in-law, Dave Quackenbush, niece, Mary Grace (Quackenbush) Garfield, and by nephew, John Quackenbush. In addition, she is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nephews and nieces.
