Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Davey; father, Paul Scott; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Hazel Thompson; and brothers, Michael and Glenn Scott.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher (Amy) Longo and Eric Longo; brother, Robert Scott; sisters-in-law, Doris Scott and Diane Scott; cousin, Vickie (Bobby) Armentrout; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets; dog Penny, and cats River and Ricki.
Linda graduated from Colonial White High School in Dayton in 1969. She dedicated 30 years of service as a State Auto Title Clerk for Montgomery County, Ohio. After a short retirement, she returned to work at Dot’s Market for several years and retired permanently during the pandemic. She was a long-time Dayton resident who lovingly made her home in the same house she purchased in 2003.
Linda was the sweetest, caring, giving, selfless, honest, and trustworthy person one could ever know. She was thoughtful, intelligent, and delightfully witty—qualities that made her a joy to be around. She had a natural gift for poetry and, had she been published, would have been recognized among America’s finest poets. She leaves behind a treasure trove of heartfelt poems, most of which were read only by her.
A true lover of life’s quiet pleasures, Linda found joy in nature, animals, music, cars, and above all, Cincinnati Reds Baseball.
Her generous heart extended to many causes she quietly supported, including SICSA Pet Adoption Center, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Arbor Day Foundation.
Her proud and loving sons offer eternal gratitude to the most tireless and beautiful soul—a woman whose spirit will now live among the stars and in the embrace of the natural world she loved so deeply.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Glen Forest Natural Burial Cemetery in Yellow Springs. Arrangements entrusted to Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek.
