She was a Bellette Cheerleader for the boys’ basketball team which took the 1964 State Championship against Cleveland East. She spoke often of those memories and the friendships she gained from her Belmont days especially with her BFF’s as she called them: Karen, Carol, Marcia, Linda H., Linda B., Debby, Donna, Jan, and Joy.
These ladies shared all life’s experiences with each other and took an annual trip to Hilton Head Island for the past 44 years together. They were chosen sisters who referred to Linda as their Angel among them, which she will continue to be eternally as their guardian Angel.
In 1970 Linda had her first born son, Chris and in 1974 her youngest son Jeremy. She was the greatest provider to them sometimes working three jobs to give them a comfortable life. She was always their favorite cheerleader encouraging them in all their sports endeavors, including basketball, soccer, baseball, football, and bowling. Linda always made time for them and their closest friends. Her boys were her whole world and greatest pride and joy.
In 1981 she met the love of her life, Vincent Ruddy while working at a brokerage firm in downtown Dayton. They went on to marry in 1985. Their union blessed her with a daughter, Michelle who quickly became her own. They built a beautiful life and family together. They traveled as often as possible, with their favorite place being Alaska. They went to countless Cleveland Brown games and Cincinnati Reds games as this was one of their favorite pastimes. She loved being near the water any chance she could and being with her family for any event there was.
Linda became a Grammy to her dear granddaughter, Abbigail Crenshaw (Stauffer) in 1994 who later blessed her with 2 great grandchildren Sophia & Vincent, who referred to her as their GiGi.
Over her life Linda had many hobbies some of which included bowling, playing softball, gardening, traveling, shopping, attending the theatre and movies. She retired from PNC Bank as an executive secretary after a long and successful career. She took much pride in all she accomplished and who she assisted over the years there.
