Lorraine was born on February 15,1941, to Frank and Nellie (Cywinski) in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania. As an only child, Lorraine was extremely devoted to both of her parents and cared for each of them until their deaths (Nellie in 1991 and Frank in 2008).
Lorraine graduated from Central High School, Kingston, Pa., and was a proud alumna of Misericorda University of Dallas, Pa. In high school, her interests turned to the theatre. She began her career as a teacher in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. While living in New Jersey, she joined the Circle Players and performed the role of Abigail Williams in “The Crucible” of which she was most proud, and met the love of her life, John Kleynowski.
On July 11, 1970, John and Lorraine married and moved to Ohio. Lorraine continued her teaching career at St. Charles Borromeo in Kettering, Ohio. She was beloved by her students for her dramatic flair and revered by her colleagues for her wicked sense of humor.
Lorraine and John were globe trotters, vacationing on cruises and at luxury resorts. After John’s passing, she continued traveling with various friends. When she returned to Pennsylvania, she planned mystery trips for her unsuspecting guests.
She loved designer clothes, exotic jewelry, and the theatre. Her home in Centerville was adorned with objects from her many travels and adventures. Lorraine had a fondness for animals, especially her precious cats, Charlie Borromeo and Louie Vuitton.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, John, as well as her parents, and Charlie and Louie.
She is survived by cousins Anne Marie Zglinicki and Paul Kopack in addition to a host of loving friends, including her caregivers Sandra and Ed O’Gorman.
