

TAYLOR, Louis J., Age 87, formally of Dayton, Trotwood and Waynesville, OH, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis (Szabo) and Susan (Hornyak), his younger sister Suzanne Pierce and his beloved wife of 60 years Anne (Polichany) Taylor. He is survived by his sister, Marguerite Keferl, son Jeffrey L. Taylor, daughter Nancy A. Taylor, caregivers Geri & Chuck Stiver and many nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends. A proud first-generation Hungarian-American, Louie was born in Dayton, OH. He attended Chaminade and Roosevelt High Schools. He was a Veteran and served his country in both the Navy and the Army. Louie was retired from the Inland Division of General Motors with 35 years of service and was a founding member of the Inland Bass Club. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and played semi-pro football with the Dayton Dakotas. He was a big part of the Chaminade-Julienne High School Band Parents Boosters in the late 1970’s and enjoyed attending the Dayton Opera and Philharmonic with Anne. A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd, Dayton, OH 45429 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Prayers at the funeral home will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering OH 45429. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH immediately following mass. Memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter in his honor.
