

Lynn F. (Pete) Boyd, P.E. of Dayton, Ohio died May 26, 2026 At age 89. Retired from WPAFB as the Director of industrial facilities under the Directorate of Civil Engineering at the Aeronautical System Division of the United States Air Force.
Pete was born July 25, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio and began working as an engineer upon graduation from The Ohio State University in June 1959. Pete completed additional studies and obtained a second engineering degree in electrical engineering in 1983. As Director of Industrial Facilities his staff was instrumental in the construction of manufacturing facilities used in many important Government projects such as those used to build the Space Shuttle, Stealth bomber, F-117 stealth fighter, as well as many other projects.
Pete was a 50-year Mason and one of the founders of the Huber Heights Masonic Lodge #777, of which he served as treasurer, secretary and editor of the monthly Treastleboard publication. Pete was a member of the Antioch Shrine and served as president and secretary of the motor Corps.
Pete was on the building committee and chairman for the second addition for Aldersgate United Methodist church.
During the founding years of the City of Huber he developed many projects acting as lead designer of the YMCA pool.
Pete is survived by his wife Anne of 67 years, his daughter Denise Boyd and son Douglas, Doug’s two sons Dr. Anthony Boyd and Steven Boyd, Anthony’s two children Riley and Noah, and his niece Sherry Harrington. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Edwin, his sister Darlene Haber and brother Guy Perry.
