Toey passed away peacefully on July 3, 2018 at St. Leonard’s in Centerville OH. She was born on March 26, 1930 to the late Hilda and Matthias Oldiges. Toey was a 1948 graduate of Julienne High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Dayton, majoring in elementary education. At UD she met her future husband, Pete Boyle, and they were married for 56 years until Pete’s passing in 2010. She was a faith-filled member of Incarnation Church for over 50 years. After God, her husband and children were the primary loves of her life. When the kids were raised, she pursued tennis and golf like the athlete she always was. And, she enrolled in Sinclair Community College’s “back to work” program and had several secretarial jobs until she landed at Elder Beerman’s for 10 years. She was a member of Walnut Grove Country Club for 40 years, and spent many Tuesdays and Thursdays there golfing with her friends. Most of her adult life was spent with Pete watching her children pursue their dreams. She supported her children in whatever they wanted to do, and was their biggest cheerleader. As players and then alumni, Toey and Pete were the ultimate UD Flyer basketball fans and attended every home game they could for most of their lives. Unselfish, giving and no stranger to sacrifice, Toey was in love with Pete until the day he passed. She gave her family and friends a tremendous example of what love and devotion look like.
She is survived by her five children: Karen Boyle of Centerville OH, Kathy Geiger of Cincinnati OH, Pete Boyle Jr. of Dayton OH, Dan (Beth) Boyle of Alpharetta GA and Kevin (Michelle) Boyle of Charlotte NC; her four grandchildren: Tony (Sydney) Boyle of Phoenix AZ; Luke, Sean and Jill Boyle of Charlotte NC. She is also survived by sister-in-law Jeanette O’Sullivan, brother-in-law Fred Rosenbauer, numerous nieces and nephews and family friend Kenny O’Connell. She was preceded in death by husband Pete Boyle Sr., twin sister Marilyn Jean Sheetz, mother and father in law, Helen and Raymond Boyle Sr., sisters-in-law Helen Ann Rosenbauer and Kathleen Boyle, and brothers-in-law Jack O’Sullivan, Raymond Boyle Jr. and Thomas Sheetz Sr.
