ELTZROTH, Margaret Ann “Peg” (Hageman) of Dayton, Ohio, age 89, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Donald, her parents Henry and Julia; her sisters Mary Irene “Mayme” and Evelyn; and brother Russell. Margaret is survived by her daughter Mary Lorraine “Lonnie” Vilkas and sons: Richard “Hank” and wife Ulla; and, John “Jack” and wife Kathryn. Grandchildren: Matt (Sophia), Ben (Julie), Sandie (Dino), Gary, Steven, Sara (Brendan), and Tim (Kate); as well as eleven great-grandchildren. Margaret graduated from Stiver’s High School in 1943, where she met her future husband in the Stiver’s band in 1940. She continued her education at The Ohio State University earning a degree in Physical Education in 1947. Margaret spent many years teaching in the Dayton City Schools, mostly at Highview Elementary, retiring in 1986. She was very active in her church and community volunteering as a Girl Scout leader, leading groups at the Aullwood Center, being a docent at the Museum of Natural History and helping her neighbors. Peg loved to folk and square dance and was a member of the Miami Valley Folk dancers. Memorial Services will take place at Corinth Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend David Collins officiating; friends may call on the family at church before services starting at 10:00. Burial will take place afterwards at Woodland Cemetery.
