

LOGOTHETIS, Margaret Rigas, passed away on March 8, 2017, following a short but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. At her bedside were her husband of 50 years, Sorrell, and her son Mike. Margaret was born on April 8, 1939, in Youngstown, Ohio. She received her undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and her master’s degree from Wright State University. Although Margaret worked during her life as an elementary school teacher and a reference librarian, her primary love and devotion was to her family. Margaret approached all aspects of her life with dignity and a good sense of humor. She was an avid reader and displayed an impressive wide range of knowledge in many areas. Margaret loved the outdoors, working in the yard and riding her bike on the many paths in the Dayton area. When younger, she was a solid doubles partner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and George Rigas, and her brother, Frank. Margaret is survived by her husband, Sorrell, of Dayton, Ohio, her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Brown of Montclair, New Jersey, her son, Mike Logothetis of Kettering, Ohio, and beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Aidan, and Sophie Brown, and Sarah Logothetis. She is also survived by her oldest brother and sister-in-law, Augustus and Elsie Rigas, and sister-in-law, Cynthia Rigas. Visitation hours are scheduled for Monday, March 13, 2017, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, 45429. Following visitation, services will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be presided over by Father Joseph Gingrich of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
