Bob and Family,

It was a pleasure working with Marian for over 10 years in the Engineering Technology Department.  She was a constant source of support for all of our faculty, staff and students. The thing I remember most was her welcoming smile and attitude to all who entered the department. She took a special interest in all of the students, engaging them in conversation and listening to their activities and problems.  Bonnie and I extend our deepest sympathy.

Marian was one special lady.  She was so kind to me when I started at UD in the Engineering Technology Division.  Her smile made everyone feel welcome and she was a great listener.  Prayers and hugs to the entire family.

To the family of Marian Fink,

Marian was a dear friend and faithful colleague during the several years of her service to me and all of the faculty and staff of the Engineering Technology Department at the University of Dayton. I was the department chair while she worked as our administrative assistant and we could all count on her to manage the office and help students find the information they needed. I was pleased that her UD degree and her service were mentioned in the obituary. Several colleagues, including the Provost, Dr. Joseph Saliba, have expressed their sorry at learning of her passing. I wish all of you peace in this difficult time.

BOB: I WAS SO SORRY TO READ OF MARIAN'S PASSING IN THE ELKHART TRUTH. I HAD OBVIOUSLY NOT SEEN MARIAN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, BUT REMEMBER HER AS A FRIEND NEIGHBOR AND CLASSMATE. I REMEMBER CLIMBING THE HUGE YELLOW CHERRY TREE IN THEIR BACK YARD AND JUST GROWING UP IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD "DOWN BY THE RIVER". YOU AND YOUR KIDS CAN KNOW SHE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS ONE OF THE VERY NICE ONES.

I am so very sorry to hear about Marian.  I loved her a lot and have a sorrowful heart right now.  There are so many memories I have of when I was a teenager babysitting for the boys and visiting "across the street."  She was a great lady, and I will miss seeing her smiling face when I visit Mom's house.  Bob, I know it has to be devastating for you, because the two of you were always so close.  The Lord is a Comforter.  Mike and Pat, it would be extremely difficult to lose a mother, especially one as special as Marian.  I am praying for all of the family.  Love, Wanda Cornwell Mannix
