

GRIERSON, Marilyn Eugenia, age 78 of Kettering, OH, passed away peacefully, at her home, Wednesday, October 19, 2011. She was born October 23, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN to her parents, James Dennison Scott Jr. “J.D.” and Helen Louise (Pfeiffer) Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Joseph Scott, ex-daughter-in-law, Kathy Galbraith, brothers-in law, Gerald Herring and Norman Holt. Marilyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, John; three sons, David S. Grierson Sr. M.D. (Tessa), of Hewitt, WI, Gregory M. Grierson Sr., (Kimberly) of Butler Township, OH, and Douglas A. Grierson D.D.S. of Spring Valley, OH; also her sister, Barbara A. Haws (Bill) of Waynesville, OH and Key West, FL; sisters-in-law, Martha C. Herring of Moraine, OH, Darlene A. Holt of Port Charlotte, FL, and Marie Scott of Key West, FL; eight grandchildren, David S. Grierson Jr., PHD of Madison, WI, Brian A. Grierson, PHD, of La Mesa, CA, Patrick M. Grierson, M.D./PHD, of Columbus, OH, Gregory M. Grierson Jr., of Butler Township, OH, Meagan L. Grierson and fiancée, Fred (Alex) Bergman of Cleveland Heights, OH, Katie M. Grierson of Dublin, OH, and Danielle L. Grierson (Jamin) of Kettering, OH; four great grandchildren, Lyndsi, Zoey, &Teressa Winfield, and Jamin Livingston Jr; special friends, Daniel J. Morris of Dublin, OH, Cathy Ruczko, PharmD, of Parma, OH, and Joni Brown of Bellbrook, OH; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of Parker Co-op High School, chairperson of its Reunions, a former employee of D.E.S.C., where she was awarded Secretary of the Year, numerous years. Marilyn was very proud of her family, remembering all the moments with family and friends, vacationing in Wisconsin, Sarasota and Bradenton, FL. She was a warm and caring person who loved and lived life to its fullest. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Friday, October 21, 2011, from 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, 9 am Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Ave. Interment, Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
