Marilyn Hackett, age 74, of Beavercreek, Ohio, died Sunday, June 17 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on October 12, 1943, in Madison County, Ohio, to Waldo E. and Mary Elizabeth (Harper) Rector, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Russell, to whom she was married for 46 years; son John and daughter-in-law Julie of Broomfield, CO; son Lucas of Charlotte, NC; and son Dr. Timothy and daughter-in-law Kimberly of Bay City, MI. Also surviving are sisters Rachel Jackson of Valparaiso, IN, Romaine (John) Drury of Cohasset, MA, and Hedy Johnston of Binghamton, NY; grandsons Owen and Spencer Hackett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marilyn graduated from London (Ohio) High School and attended the Ohio State University. She was active in TWIGs and was a longtime active member of St. Andrew UMC, were she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 350 N. Fairfield Road in Beavercreek. It will be preceded by a time of visitation at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. It will be followed by burial at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given in her name to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, St. Andrew Church or a charity of one's choice.
