Margie was born on February 28, 1933 in Botkins, Ohio to the late Dr. Max and Josephine Wiest. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Urban, Vernon, Harold and Alvin; sisters, Dorothy and Marilyn, (Solem); husband, Martin Young; and grandson, Patrick (McGaughey). Margie was the beloved mother of 3 daughters, Cindi (Paul) Ornstein, Linda (Mike) Mcgaughey, and Teri (Mike) O’Connor. She was grandmother to Bryan McGaughey, Kelly (Jared) Russell, and Kyle (Laura) O’Connor; and great grandmother to Jaxson & Anna-Lynn. Margie married and started her family in Dayton, Ohio, later moving to Cleveland where she spent her time enjoying her home, gardening, antiquing, and her many friends. She always kept very busy and was never afraid of new chapters in her life. She was among the first to open a country store, “Margies Country Place”, and what a success it was. She was forever making something look more beautiful. Those who knew her will always think of her as being 85 years young. She was always happy, fun loving and quick witted. After moving back to Dayton and Centerville, she spent many years faithfully serving the Lord, volunteering at St. Leonard’s, making new friends and puttering in her home and garden. We are so grateful for your love and support for our dear Margie. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. at St. Leonard Faith Community, 8100 Clyo Road, Centerville, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Leonard’s for a garden in Marge’s name. Online condolences may be directed to: www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
