

Marla was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Allen Mink and Onabel Pressler and grandparents, Permelia Katherine and Wilbur H. Roberts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Neil Berger, her children, Douglas Dean Berger, Andrea Jean Dieckman (Richard Scott), and Christopher Allen Berger; her grandchildren, Brooke Katherine Berger, Patrick Scott Dieckman, Eric Andrew Dieckman (Macie), Lindsay Ann Giles (Ben), and Kurtis Robert Dieckman; and her great-grandson, Luke Samuel Dieckman. She is also survived by her siblings, Jo Cook (Doug) and Judy Hughes (David), as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Marla was born and raised in Dayton (Belmont), Ohio by her parents and maternal grandparents.
She graduated from Patterson Co-Operative and completed coursework at the University of Dayton.
Marla was a devout Christian, who loved and followed the Lord
She was a fierce defender and loving supporter of friends and family, most notably those who were in distress or trouble.
Marla was a lover of all animals and most all types of music. She shared her beautiful voice by singing in Otterbein United Methodist Church’s choir for many years.
She loved to study history and inspired her son to study history at the University of Dayton.
Marla was a devoted wife, who lovingly cared for her husband through his illnesses and saved his life.
She was a completely devoted mother, who lovingly raised, cared for and supported her three children. In good times and bad, she was there.
Marla was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and mother-in-law.
She was a talented home interior decorator, gardener, cook and baker, who inspired so many in her family
Marla was a world traveler with a special love of Great Britain.
She was a collector of beautiful things and especially proud of her Lladros.
Marla was kind, considerate and beautiful inside and out.
