

Martha “Marty” Elizabeth Orr (79) of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 7,2026. She was the oldest of four children and a strong, independent single mother of two daughters. Born November 30, 1946 in Kentucky, she moved to Ohio at the age of four and spent most of her life in Dayton.
Marty worked her entire professional career with General Motors. She started as a co-op student at age 16 and worked at various GM locations including Inland, Frigidaire , Delphi and Harrison Radiator until her retirement in 1999.
She had a passion for photography and was an avid Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. After retirement, Marty served as a host mom for the Dayton Dragons minor league team for 9 seasons.
Proud of all her military family members, Marty supported our troops through donations to the WWII Memorial and Wounded Warriors.
She was preceded in death by her parents William “Bill” and Loreane (Armstrong) Orr; daughter Loreane “Lori” Orr; sister-in-law Rhonda (Wirt) Orr and the love of her life, Elmer Reagen “Rick” Kearney.
She is survived by her daughter Amber Orr; 3 brothers, William “Bill” (Debbie) Orr; Carl Thomas “Tom” Orr; Ronald “Ron” (Kathy) Orr; 4 nephews, William “Smitty” (Debbie) Orr; Jason Orr; Michael “Mike” (Beth) Orr; Matthew “Matt” (Mandie) Orr and numerous extended family and friends.
Special recognition to God’s angel on earth, our cousin, April (Orr) Prunier, who guided us through this process and was with her as she took her final breath.
