BLOOM, Mary Judith (Irvin), 80, of Dayton, OH, died peacefully Friday, June 22, 2018. Judy was born on June 7, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Mary and William Irvin. She graduated from Rocky River High School in 1956 and attended The Ohio State University where she studied Home Economics and joined Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a lifelong Buckeye fan. She spent the bulk of her adult years raising her four children in Dayton. Seeing her kids and grand kids do well was what made her happiest. She loved her husband John, the 39 years of life they shared together. They relished traveling and learning about other cultures. They enjoyed the companionship of their beloved dogs and celebrating holidays and family traditions. She had a multitude of hobbies: cooking, reading, antiquing, and participating in a variety of exercise classes. Judy was an active volunteer over the years in Hospice, Hannah’s Treasure’s Chest, and Ronald McDonald House. Judy is survived by her husband, John E. Bloom; her children, Fritz Stefan (Karen) Loveland, OH; John Stefan (Eva) Awahu, Hawaii; Jenni Cox (Todd) Loveland, OH; Matt Stefan Baton Rouge, LA; her step children, David Bloom (Dru) Nashville, TN; Wendy Bloom Berkeley, CA; Steven Bloom (Elsie Kappler) McLean, VA; and Amy Holt (Ken) Glastonbury, CT; and their shared 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wed., June 27th at St George’s Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45429.
