Mary D Colvin

COLVIN, Mary Applegate passed away at Heartland of Miamisburg on August 21, 2012, at the age of 97. She was a member of the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mary was born in St. Mary’s,, Ohio, and graduated from Mount Vernon Academy in Mount Vernon, Ohio, in 1932. That same year she married Paul Applegate, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Milton Colvin, in 1993, and her son, Richard Applegate in 2007. Before entering Heartland of Miamisburg, she resided at 640 Jason Lane in Centerville, Ohio. Mary was a cosmetologist and operated her own hairdressing salons for many years in the Berrien Springs, Michigan area. She is survived by her son Stanley Applegate and his wife Edith of Dayton, OH; her grandchildren: David Applegate of Maplewood, NJ., Douglas Applegate of San Francisco, CA., Richard Applegate of Redlands, CA., Jerri Randrup of Oakland, CA., six great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 7, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel. Burial will follow in the David’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
