Mary Kate Kathryn Corle Hardin

HARDIN/Wallace, Mary Kathryn(Kate), age 85 of Centerville, passed away Friday, June 10,2011. She was born February 16, 1926 in Jay County, Indiana, the only child of Chester and Maude Corle. She met and married Roy Wallace in 1944. They had two daughters, Sally Heckerman(Dan) and Brenda Wallace(deceased), their two grandchildren Shaun Turpen(Sabrina) and Brenda Turpen, and great-grandchild Brennan Moffitt. After Roy’s death in 2000, she met and married James Hardin(deceased). Also surviving is brother-in-law Kenneth Wallace(Elah), sister-in-law Barbara Burton, several nieces, nephews, and many cousins in Indiana, as well as many Hardin family members in Ohio and Texas. Kate was employed by General Motors-Frigidaire, Trotwood-Madison School System, and enjoyed activities at Lathrem and Hithergreen Senior Centers. She also enjoyed crafts and traveling to all 50 United States. Kate was a member of the Oakcreek United Church of Christ. Family to receive friends Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel; where service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, with Rev. John Konz officiating. Graveside service 12 noon Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Green Park Cemetery Chapel in Portland, IN.
