Mary Charlene Kochensparger

Age 53, passed away February 14, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born April 29, 1968 in Zanesville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Archie Murray. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Matt, her children Colleen and Ben, her sisters, Teresa Murray and Julie (Tracy) Koontz, as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Char was a 1986 graduate of New Lexington High School and a 1991 graduate of OSU. She was active for many years at Ascension Church in Kettering with such ministries as Marriage Encounter, Elizabeth Ministry, Bereavement Luncheon, and the Giving Tree. She thoroughly enjoyed being a mother to her children and excelled at making her home welcoming to family and friends. She had a knack for putting people at ease. For several years she owned her own desktop publishing business from her home. The last several years of her life Char became very active in scrapbooking. Through that pursuit she made friends all over the world. Her creative spark knew no bounds.

She was her kids' biggest cheerleader and her husband's best friend. She will be greatly missed but her spirit will live on with her family and friends.

This will help kids in need of literature, which was dear to Char's heart.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, OH 45429. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr. Kettering, OH 45420. Interment, David’s Cemetery.
