We remember the good when  times we were together.  I will miss that smile of hers. I live in Germany now,  but I will be thinking of you guys at this time tomorrow night our time.  Stay in touch.

I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to be blessed by Mrs. Hughes love and laughter.  I'll always cherish those very fond memories. Please, remember she will be ever present in our minds and in our hearts.

I loved the time I spend with her. Our trip to fl. To visit her and Dave was a wonderful time. Always a smile on her face. She will surely be missed by all.

  I was not prepared to lose Merica.  Her illness was a shock to most of us who knew her.  I will miss our Euche card games both here and in Florida.  When we visited in Florida, we did a lot of shopping and lunching  while the boys went golfing.  I will miss her frankness and sense of humor. I met Merica in Red Hats in Okeechobee Florida. When I retired 7 years ago. She was about the only one who was always on time. We would meet David and Merica at Beers and Cheers for their hamburgers. She was so excited about her new granddaughter I will miss hearing all the updates. I will miss her. Love Roger and Joni  Byland 

Merica was my cousin.  We hadn’t seen each other for several years.  I was so sorry to hear that she was in the hospital .   I was so sad to hear that she passed away.  I will always remember growing up , going to her family’s house and her family coming to ours.  God bless her family.

Don't even know where to start. 
The last text I sent you was that I couldn't wait to join you with a  glass full of ice and a can of Diet Coke. I guess that will have to wait for now. I still giggle when I look at that picture you sent wearing those stylish yellow hospital socks. That one is a keeper.
Richie will have to venture out on his own for his Mike-n-Ike candy boxes. You never failed to keep him fully stocked. We still have two boxes in the cupboard.
I miss you my sweet, funny friend. I look forward to seeing you again.

We always enjoyed visiting with you and Dave, at the Milton Club. You never forgot our birthdays and always surprised us with a cake to share.  You knew just what to say to get us all laughing.

Merica & Dave we have been friends over 50 years! We shared a lot of memories, and a lot of laughs together, and we were both crazy about Elvis! We went to Concerts￼, went to Graceland...but the funniest and craziest memory was when Elvis was coming to Dayton for his concert, and we found out that he was going to land at Vandalia’s small airport! It was Merica, Kristine, my son Howard and myself! Picture this...my hair is in curlers because we were going to the concert! We get to the airport and we are the only ones there!  A few more showed up!  The plane lands and Elvis starts down the steps of the aircraft and we’re screaming and hollering and he’s waving and smiling. The limo stops in front of us and we are standing right up by his back window when he gets into the limo. He takes one look at us and he smiling! Then we decided, when his limo leaves, we’re gonna follow them on the highway! Once again we get up by his car and we’re waving and all those crazy things, and he just keeps smiling at us. Hair rollers and all...I don’t know what I was thinking, but it was something we never forgot and neither did our children! I’m going to miss my best friend and partner in crime!Rest in peace my sweet friend!

Dear David, Kristine & Bill, My deepest condolences go out to you & your family & all who knew & loved Merica. She was a wonderful woman & always fun to be around.  Sending love & prayers for God's peace & comfort. 

So many wonderful memories.  I will share some with the family in years to come. Right now I  will share how Merica had us drive 2 hours out of our way because she wanted to get a certain restaurants pie. At first I thought that was extreme until I tasted the pie!
On the same trip when we finally got to our Ft. Myers destination she must have been tired.   She asked not to have my coke refilled! She didn't want me talking all night!
Another trip she and I shared was to visit our friend  Sherry  in S. Carolina.  We listened to Elvis the entire trip both ways!! Laugh out loud!
I will miss her but trust that I will see her again!

Merica was my younger sister.  I had not seen her in 25 years.  We keep in touch through birthday and Christmas cards and occasional calls.  I will always remember the fun and good times we had as children and teen-agers.   I loved her and will miss her.

Merica and Dave were two of the first people I met at Hospice of Dayton.  Merica had a special touch in the garden, and helped the plants bloom so beautifully.  As a newbie, Merica helped me learn the ropes.  I am saddened by her passing, and send condolences and love to her family.
