Merle E. Cummings, age 79 of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at River Oaks Care Center. Merle was born in Dayton Ohio to Merle Edwin Cummings and Jeanette (Murphy) Haines, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Judith S. Cummings, son Kevin Cummings, and sister, Constance Miller. He is survived by his children: Greg Cummings (Peggy) of Caesar Creek Township, and Michele Feck (Steve) of Amelia. Three loving grandchildren: Scott (Hoda) Cummings of TX, Corey Cummings of Beavercreek and Emily Feck (Chris Guthrie) of MI. He is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Clarke and Barb Bettinger, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Merle was a graduate of Stivers High School, served as a Marine, and played football with the Dayton Colts. Early in his career he worked at NCR, before finishing his career as a contract administrator for DESC. He was actively involved with the American Heart Association, Life Connection, and the American Red Cross. Friends may call on the family at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. from 11 AM until 1 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in Merle’s memory.
