Michael David Elder was a caring father, cousin, nephew, and friend. Born to Tanya Barnes and Michael Elder, Sr. on December 7,1974, he left this world suddenly on November 16, 2021.

Michael was an outgoing and loving person, who never met a stranger. He loved being outdoors, spending time with friends, and being with his daughter, Celeste. Michael and Celeste had a special bond and went on many adventures together; creating Tik Toks, exploring different types of music, amusement parks and sharing laughs.

Michael had great respect and admiration for this country and its military and was a proud supporter. A lifelong Raider and Ohio State Buckeye fan, Michael cheered for his teams as enthusiastically as he did the military.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Tanya Sue Barnes, his grandparents, Eddie and Maggie McLaurin, and his beloved dog, Bearis.

Michael has left to mourn him his daughter, Celeste Marie Elder, his ex-wife, Stacey Anzek, and his father, Michael Elder, Sr. He also leaves uncles, Jeffery McLaurin and Michael Lynn McLaurin, and aunts Carolyn Silva (Barry), Marcia Woodard, and Dawn Bowen. He leaves to mourn him cousins, Lisa Villa-Gomez (Carlou), Tina Blackwell, Kevin Bowen, Amy McLaurin and Tracy McLaurin and a host of other family members and friends.

This is heartbreaking. Elder was the kindest, sweetest, funniest guy a girl could know. His smile was infectious and he could brighten a room the minute he entered it. I will always remember our crazy days at St. Helen and Carroll and all the trouble we all caused. Your daughter and family are in my thoughts and prayers. You will be missed my friend.

Not many had a better smile and kind heart as Mike. I went through St. Helen and Carroll with him. Used to run into Mike from time to time the last several years, so thankful I did.
Sending much love to his family, especially his daughter. Love to all.

Michael and I touched base with one another on Facebook recently. We always sent post on our Nations everyday hero’s! I remember he wanted me to post something on my page in regards to the military. I recall texting Mike back and told him., he’s an honorable man.., he doesn’t needs stripes or a bar to post about military hero’s., to me he is one through his love for the Nations military force. His honor is ten times so many people with our great nation. If each of us had the honor that he has for our Nation., this Nation will have no fear. I am proud to have known Mike and honored to call him a friend. Everyone will have a beautiful moment in their lives that reflects a dear friend.., Mike.., I am truly blessed to have those memories of you. Cheers my friend.. Keep on playing frisbee golf and enjoying the tunes my friend. God Bless and Semper Fidelis!

Just 3 months ago we went to the Newport and had a blast. You loved and treasured all of the people around you!!! Heaven gained a shiny, loving angel and you will always be remembered by all. Every time I look at my Jaws planter you pointed out for Ben, I will see you!!! Until we meet again!!!

Michael was a free spirit who enjoyed life and made sure to live it..his high energy shinned bright and anyone that came across his path could feel it.

Michael saw the best in people and would tell stories of many whom he admired.. whether a long time friend or a stranger he had a brief encounter with at the checkout line.

Michael was so dag gone mischievous, funny, hyper, stubborn, kind, sensitive, protective, quick witted, personable and many other things.
Michael was just unique....

He adored Celeste and was so proud of every milestone
His main goal in life was to make sure without a doubt that she knew she was loved by him and how wonderful and beautiful she is in every way.

I pray for comfort to all who are grieving
