He was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School in Tipp City, Oh. After graduation he received a degree in accounting, working in various banks and construction supply as a credit manager. Mike loved talking with people. He seldom ran into a person he wouldn’t talk to. This led him to work part-time for Potter Fence after retirement.
Mike enjoyed playing golf so he decided to volunteer at Pipestone golf course where he could talk to more people.
He was a lifetime member of Dayton Elks #58 B.P.O.E. where he enjoyed cooking meals for the members. He was the annual steak chef, grilling all the steaks for over a hundred people at all the Derby and race parties. Mike held many positions at the Elks whether it was in his local lodge, state level or Grand Lodge. Mike was an Army Veteran and a member of the Kettering American Legion Post #598. He enjoyed it all and served his community. While his love of food never waivered, he decided to study, taste, research and take classes to become a Kansas City certified judge. He did just that and judged many contests. Then he decided to add wine as he watched his wife enjoy a glass or two. It became his favorite, as well. They spent many Saturday afternoons tasting wine with friends.
Mike was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. He looked forward to Saturday and watched the game.
Mike continues to serve the community by donating his body to Wright State School of Medicine.
From Mike’s and Marsha’s first kiss to his last breath, there is a lot of love and many memories in between.
