

Mitchell, Nannie “Lorene” age 95 of Kettering passed away, Sunday March 21, 2021; She was born January 29, 1926 in London, Kentucky to Arthur Huff and Maranda Huff (Moore) who preceded her in death. Lorene was a very talented professional seamstress for many years and took care of the sewing needs for many loyal customers and friends. She also enjoyed reading, working a good jigsaw puzzle or challenging crossword puzzle as her favorite hobbies. She was a member of The Gathering Place Baptist Church in Kettering. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Mitchell in 2000. Herman and Lorene had been married 52 years at his passing. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mona Huff Chandler, brother-in-law, John Chandler, two brothers, Albert Huff, sister-in-law, Edith Huff, and Ed Huff, sister-in-law Georgia Huff along with a host of lifelong friends. She is survived by her three children, two sons, Don (Debbie) Mitchell, Ron (Jeri) Mitchell and one daughter, Linda (Mike) Simons; Lorene is survived by four granddaughters who she loved dearly, Anne Mitchell, Maranda (Corey) Montgomery, Erin (Ryan) Lozier, and Kelly (Mark) Smith; one step-grandson, Taylor “TJ” Jackson. She leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Emma Massing, Ethan and Eli Montgomery, Eva Lozier and Addison Smith who added great joy to her golden years. Visitation will be held at the Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, OH 45429 Friday, March 26, 2021 from 1:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm. She will be taken to her final resting place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens following the service. In lieu of flowers please contribute to your favorite charity in memory of Nannie.
