Kessel, Neil C., son of Ronald and Yong Kessel, was born on 30 November, 1977, in Minot, North Dakota, passed away on 16 August, 2021 in Fairborn, Ohio of natural causes. He graduated from: Carroll High School; Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology; The University of Michigan, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery; and the University of North Carolina with a Master of Science in Orthodontics. Neil joined the active duty Air Force in April, 2005. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, with his last assignment as the Chief Orthodontist in the Wright Patterson AFB Dental Clinic. Neil loved reading, music and going to concerts when he could. His stress releases were playing videos games, playing his acoustic guitars, enjoying movies and watching college and pro football, as well as basketball. His 16 year Air Force career included assignments as a student; an instructor, a Dentist, an Orthodontist; and took him to Travis, Kunson, Lakenheath, Ramstein, and lastly to Wright Patterson AFB. He had a very gentle nature, blended with a strong character, and broad sense of humor. But most of all, he was a very good and loving son who will be deeply missed. With his assignment to Wright-Patt, God gave us the chance to fully enjoy our son for the single longest period of time since he joined the Air Force. Remember, “remind God the he needs to wear His retainer just like everybody else.” Family will receive friends from 11 AM- 1 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd at Grange Hall Rd. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
