
LIRA, Nicholas, age 96 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community. Nicholas was born on December 1, 1916 in Dayton to the late Peter and Anna Thomas Lira. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leticia Lira; son, Thomas Lira; a brother, Thomas Lira; and two sisters, Cleo Coston and Daphne Mickle. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Charles) Cosper of Anchorage AK a brother, James Lira of Tuson AZ; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; nephews, Tom (Sharon) Lira and Frank (Ronnie) Lira; and dear friends, Walter and Linda Grierson. Nicholas served in the U.S. Navy in which he was a Pearl Harbor survivor, was retired from N.C.R., and also a talented Locksmith. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and had a great love for the game of golf. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Parke N., Dayton, Ohio 45405, Father Mark Emroll officiating.
