

Norma Jean Young Schoening, 80, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Dayton, Ohio June 24, 1931 to Morris F. and Lena P. (Mack) Schumacher. Norma is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph K. Young in 1984; son, Robert R. Young in 1987; daughter-in-law Paula J. Young in 1997. She is survived by her second husband, Albert M. Schoening; son Gary & Barbara Young of Huber Heights, daughter Patty & Larry Simmons of Dayton, son Jim & Karen Young of Kettering, "daughter" Barb & Bob Frey of Kettering; stepchildren, Janice & Jerry Williams, Sandy & Lyn Murray, Bruce & Kandi Schoening and Lisa & Norm Lussier; grandchildren, Christopher (Hollie)Young, Katie Young (Jake Klare), Amy (Stephen) Salyer, Kelly Simmons (Dave Snider), Scott Simmons, Karen (Ron) Dimmerling, Kim Young, Kyla Young and Connor Young; great grandchildren Laila Dimmerling and Stephen Salyer; brother, Charles (Robie) Schumacher; sisters, Janice Brinegar, Mary (Sam) Gruber; along with numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 648 Watervliet Avenue in Dayton. Funeral services will be at Fairview United Methodist Church, 828 West Fairview Avenue in Dayton, Monday April 23 with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and service beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Barbara Wiechel officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Norma’s memory.
