

Opal Lee Covey age 89 of Beavercreek passed away Tuesday, 5/5/2020 at Hospice of Dayton. She is survived by two sons, Tony of South Carolina and Terry (Kary) of Beavercreek; one sister – Donna Crider of Brookville; 6 grandchildren – Josh, Amanda of South Carolina; Aaron, Shannon, Adrien and Levi and 4 great-grandchildren – Eden, Ezra, June and Thea all of the Dayton area.
Opal was born 3/12/1931 in Brookville, Ohio and worked at Gallagher Drug Store in Dayton before marrying Marshall Covey on July 29, 1950. Together they had two sons, Tony and Terry whom they raised in Beavercreek. She and Marshall loved to cut grass and plant and tend to their fruit and vegetable gardens, later enjoying the fruits of their labor. She also liked to walk with other ladies in the neighborhood.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Carl (1967) and Florence (1971) Schreck; husband, Marshall of 68 years (2018); daughter-in-law Debbie of South Carolina (2014); 3 sisters – Mary (2001), Dorothy (2010), JoAnn (1940); 5 brothers – Robert (1978), Carl “Bud” (1971), Homer “Pete”(2012), Earl (2001) and Kenneth “Dean” (1977).
