Opal M. Lyons

Lyons, Opal M., (Wadman), age 92, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Lyons of over 39 years of marriage; two daughters Judith A. Lyons-Overman and Jane Lyons-Ramey; as well as 9 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her two daughters Julie Kucharski and Jill Ann (Fred) Ward and one sister Juanita Limes. Opal is also survived by 6 grandsons, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was a longtime member of First United Church of Christ where she was a secretary, a Sunday school teacher and also a board member. She also loved bowling at Belmont Bowling Lanes. Opal was a selfless, loving mother who always put her children before herself. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, November 8, 2013, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd. Dayton, OH 45417, in Opal’s memory.
