Hicks, Patricia, age 57 of Kettering passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at Sycamore Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Gerald Hicks, a brother, Jerry Hicks and a half-sister, Linda Poole. Patty is survived by 5 sisters: Betty Hicks, Dorothy Sullivan (Tony), Rose Hicks, Susan Hicks, and Ruth Snyder; 6 brothers: Robert (Mary), Daniel (Arvinia), Charles (Janet), William, Ronald (Janet), and James Hicks (Julie); sister-in-law Sue Ellen Hicks; and many nieces and nephews. Patty was the former owner and operator of Becker’s Thrifline Market on Brown and Oak Streets, and worked at Bernstein Fine Catering. She graduated from Stivers High School in ’73. The family would like to sincerely thank Pat Kothman, Betty Jo Zimmer, and Pearl Sweezy for their selfless acts of kindness. The Funeral Service will be held at 1PM, Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel with Pastor Ken Damon officiating. Friends may visit from 11am until the time of service. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Contributions in Patty’s name may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the National Kidney Foundation.
