Patricia Ann Moore was born July 14th, 1943 the 2nd of 4 children, to Anthony and Mary (Travis) Paskiet. For most of her life she was a resident of the Toledo area.
Pat attended Little Flower school for her primary education through the 8th grade, and for a short while considered becoming a nun, so spent her freshman year at St. Clare Academy. A photo of her at this time was discovered in the archives of the Sisters of Saint Frances of Sylvania, Ohio. Pat went on to graduate high school in 1961, but when she was asked about her decision not to join the church, she would joke “They said I was too slow… I thought somebody always has to be last!”
Perhaps the true reason was that Pat’s biggest dream was always to become a mother. She longed for a child, and when she found out she was pregnant she was “over the moon” with happiness to be blessed with a beautiful baby. Her son Bryan was her absolute heart and she was so proud to be his mama. In 2004 she welcomed a granddaughter, and her “precious darling Kayla” became her sunshine from that day forward as well.
Pat loved bingo, fishing, Scrabble, Yahtzee, the Wheel of Fortune / Jeopardy hour, books on tape, crosswords and adult coloring books. She had a lifelong passion for classic country greats and her all-time favorite was Jim Reeves. She also adored her cat Honey, who has been re-homed with her son Bryan and entrusted to his care for safe keeping.
Pat was the epitome of the quote “a stranger is a friend I’ve yet to meet.” She was bright and lively yet had a quiet demeanor and a subtle strength. She had this wonderful ability to see others as they stood and say “You are perfect as you are.” She was a truly gentle soul that loved and accepted everyone and gave off a calming and comforting energy. There was no ego or concept of one person being better than another in the way she perceived the world. If she met you, she welcomed you with an open heart, kind words, and a warm hug. If she knew you, she would treat you like you were special to her because you were. She was a poet, a romantic, a dreamer and a constant. She was steadfast and an irreplaceable pillar of goodness and will be forever missed by those who were blessed to love her.
Pat is survived by her son Bryan Moore, her granddaughter Kayla Moore (and Kayla’s mother Rebecca Druschel), her sister Lorrie Graves (Mitch Mang), a brother Mike Paskiet, her closest friends Heather Latham Miller (Erich Miller) and Deb Voak. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Gerald Paskiet, her husband and best friend Charles “Walt” Walter Moore, and her other great love and long-time companion, Paul “Junior” Pressnell. Additionally she was preceded in death by her dear friends Rosemary and Linda “Lesley” Lynn, whom she carried in her heart always and spoke of in fond remembrance regularly.
Pat chose to be cremated and due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be no formal service. She would appreciate being celebrated in a manner that would keep everyone healthy and safe. In lieu of flowers, her loved ones respectfully ask that you do something to “pay it forward” in the spirit of remembering Pat’s tenderness. A good deed for another in need or a random act of kindness can create a ripple effect that spreads in beautiful and vast ways, and it’s a gift only you are capable of giving.
