Paul William Theis

September 25, 1933April 3, 2018

THEIS, Paul William, age 84, of Dayton, OH, passed away on April 3, 2018. Born in Coldwater, Ohio, he is the son of Arthur and Hazel Theis. He is survived by his son; Randall Theis; daughters, Rebecca (Joseph) Basalla, Rhonda (Tim) Maloney; grandchildren, Alex Bucher, Rachel Basalla, Aaron Basalla; sister, Marilyn (Tom) Richardson, as well as loved ones; Victoria Blaney, Sharon Moore, Marie Theis, Johnnie Theis and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers; John Theis and Jim Theis. Paul had a zest for life and especially loved ballroom dancing, gardening and bowling. He was a barber for over 60 years and was the owner of Paul’s Barber Shop in Belmont. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 0598, VFW Post 9927 and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Paul was a very gentle soul and was loved by all who knew him. A visitation will take place on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 3pm until 5pm at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BELMONT CHAPEL. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 9, 2018, 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Kettering. Paul’s final resting place will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton or The American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

I was Paul's UPS driver at his barber shop for about 10 years. We also had something in common, both born in Coldwater. I want to pass my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Paul was one of the absolutely nicest people I've ever met.
