On Saturday, December 15, 2018 loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away from pneumonia at the age of 85.
Born on October 10, 1933 in Guilin, China, Peter immigrated to the United States in 1963 and became a naturalized citizen October 12, 1973. Peter married Bernadette Chang on May 7, 1966. He received his Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from West Virginia University in 1966 and his PhD in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University in 1972. Peter loved tennis and golf and was known for his infectious laughter, his kind spirit, and his devotion to family.
Peter is survived by his wife, Bernadette, his three children, Arlene Rosen, Albert Shih, and Elaine Shih, his sisters, Katherine Yau and I-ming Shih, his brother, Steve Shih, and his 6 grandchildren, Michael, Caroline, Christa, Jackson, Sophie, and Xander.
His funeral service will be held 11:00AM Friday, December 21, 2018 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel. Family to receive friends 10:00AM Friday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
