

Philip Thomas Parmley (Tom) age 76 passed away peacefully at home in Dayton, OH Saturday, January 23, 2021. Tom was born in Baltimore, MD on August 2, 1944. He is preceded in death by parents Philip and Alma (Wallace) Parmley and nephew Philip Parmley. Tom is survived and will be remembered by his wife, Judy of 53 years, his two sons John (Elizabeth), Steve (Joyce), four grandchildren Zachary, Victoria, Zoe, Lexi, and brother Wallace "Jerry" (Judy) and niece Tamara Parmley.
He graduated high school in 1962 from Fairmont and then from Sinclair Community College. Tom spent most of his career in auto sales at Frank Z, Smedley's and Lang's Chevrolet. He finished his career in managing auction sales at ADESA.
Tom enjoyed racing and building engines for street cars & hotrods, the World of Outlaws sprint cars, go-karts, the International Drag Bike Association (IDBA), motorcycles, and his "Tom & Jerry" 1968 ProStock Camaro. From his '57 Chevy to his '67 Nova to his barely legal Suzuki Hayabusa, Tom enjoyed anything that went fast and burned gasoline.
In his retirement years, he found a new challenge in radio control car racing, and enjoyed watching football & BattleBots, and watching the Masked Singer and NCIS with his wife Judy.
There will be a public viewing on Friday, January 29th at Tobias Funeral home at Far Hills Rd. and Rahn Rd. in Kettering from 6-8pm. Masks and social distancing is required to help ensure the safety of the family and friends. A private service will be performed on Saturday, January 30th, but will be live streamed for all to view. Service will be live streamed and can be viewed from Tom’s obituary at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Association.
