He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Lillian (Jordan) Polichany. A deeply devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife Eva and son Matthew (Alison), many family and friends, and his beloved dog Peyton.
The family made their home in Springboro, Ohio and later in Centerville. He worked for over 40 years, primarily as a campus police officer at Miami Valley Hospital. Phil infused everything he did with love and respect for others. His faith in Jesus Christ was unshakeable. He had a lifelong love of animals, and he rescued countless strays, often a litter at a time, during his lifetime. His favorite hobbies included marksmanship and boating. His good humor was ever present. He enjoyed doing anything and everything that meant spending precious time with his wife and son. He will be sadly missed, but with happy memories of a wonderful life shared.
A memorial service for Phil will be held on Friday, April 12 at Tobias funeral home on Far Hills Ave. Visitation begins at 11:30 AM, with the service beginning at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263, www.hospiceofcincinnati.org.
