It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Knudson announce her passing on April 25, 2018 after an extended illness. For those who knew Phyllis, please join us in our thoughts of her now dancing freely, tending her gardens, and offering kindness and wisdom to all who surround her. As a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Stephen Knudson, by her daughters Jennifer Graman and Rachel Berry, son-in-law David Berry, and by her grandchildren Sara Meyer, Wesley Meyer, Ethan Berry and Cole Berry. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mildred and Cliff Steinbarger, and by her father John Lang. Phyllis also leaves behind dear friends, and a countless number of lives she touched and left better by her presence. Phyllis was an avid gardener, a passionate ballet dancer, and a frequent adopter of stray cats. After graduating from Ohio State University, she worked as an English and Spanish teacher, and later, after completing a graduate degree at Wright State University, as a High School Guidance Counselor at Greeneview Schools (Jamestown, Ohio). She was also a founding member and long-time board member of the Dayton Jungian Association.
