

Phyllis is survived by her children, Henry Potts (wife Paula) and Mary Helen Bota (husband Wayne Bota), and preceded in death by her son Gregory Victor Potts (wife Krista), she is also survived by her brother, Robert Stallsworth and sister Brenda Johnson; her eight grandchildren, Brian, Casey, Stephanie, Sarah, Monica, Christopher, Michael and Danny; and her eight great grandchildren, Salvadore, Lillian, Gregory, Adam, Christopher, Benjamin, Jacob, Ross and great great grandchild Myles. Phyllis also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Phyllis was born on November 26, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio to Helen Clara Lee (Toht) and Russell E. Lee. She married Henry Otis Potts (deceased) in 1949 and over a period of 10 years, the couple welcomed three children into their home. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Phyllis was passionate about crocheting and baking. She was a generous individual who loved to bake cookies (the freezer was always filled!) and who was skilled at crocheting. She gave nearly all her Afghans to friends, relatives and those in need. She worked in the retail industry for over 35 years. She was an active and devout member of her church and often volunteered in the gift shop at Kettering Hospital.
A gathering of family and friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel on Saturday, June 29, 2024, with a reception to follow at Sycamore Creek Country Club. Pastor Travis Qualls will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis’s life.
