Ralph Irvin Lingg

It is with heavy but grateful hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ralph Irvin Lingg on June 10, 2026, at the age of 95. Ralph left this world enveloped in the love of his family at Ohio Hospice of Dayton, following a life well-lived and deeply cherished. Ralph was born on February 18, 1931, in East Berlin, Pennsylvania, to the late Irvin and Fredia Lingg. They laid the foundation of love and values that Ralph carried forward throughout his life. Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his brother Thomas Lingg, and sisters Gloria Poppa, Colleen Harms, Alice Sparaco, Thelma Hayes, Geri Fernandez, Patti Ellis, his precious granddaughter Katie Cline, and his stepson Joe Wannemacher. Their memories live on in Ralph’s heart, as will his in the hearts of those who survive him. Ralph is survived by his devoted wife, Sally A. Lingg, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a family that reflects their commitment to love and togetherness. Ralph is lovingly remembered by his children: Barbara (Bill) Burdett, Jim (Shari) Lingg, Tom (Kim) Lingg, and Karen Cline (Mike), along with his stepchildren Debby (Fred) Seibert, Kathy (Steve) Waker, and Connie Filbrun. He was a proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Ralph dedicated 45 years to his craft as a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union #162, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional life, Ralph was a man of many interests and a zest for life. Known for his warm hugs and playful spirit, he brought joy to those around him with his goofy antics and infectious laughter. Ralph cherished riding bikes, vacationing in Hilton Head Island, watching golf, and the simple pleasure of picking up sticks. His walks and Romeo luncheons through St Leonard's were a testament to his love for community and friendship. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ohio Hospice of Dayton for the exceptional care and compassion shown by their dedicated nurses during Ralph’s final days. Ralph Irvin Lingg will be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness, a man whose hugs and laughter will be missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life beautifully lived. May he rest in eternal peace.

A visitation will occur at Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Dayton, OH 45429 on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 272 Bainbridge St. Dayton, OH 45402, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM with a burial to follow at David’s Cemetery, 4600 Mad River Rd. Dayton, OH 45429. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church in Ralph’s memory, honoring his deep connection to his faith community.
