

UNDERHILL, Ralph W, born on August 12, 1941, in Erlanger, KY to Robert and Carrie Underhill. Preceded in death by wife, Marilyn Mees-Underhill; loving father of Kim (Underhill) Pluess and Melinda Underhill; devoted grandfather to Selina and Kiara; big brother to Sandy (Underhill) Moore and Fran Rohs; and a dear friend to gal pal/caretaker Valeria Reynolds. He left us on Thursday, September 8, 2011. His incredible coaching career spanned for 33 years. He won the Division II NCAA championship in 1983 and was awarded the National Coach of the Year. Every team he coached played for a state or national championship title, including an international championship in Croatia. He will be remembered by his love of family and friends, sense of humor, down to the last minute of his life, his captivating eyes and smile, his generous heart, his rhythm and soul on the dance floor, and of course, his love of basketball with his energetic and enthusiastic style. Ralph coached like he lived his life, to the fullest. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Issacs officiating.
