Mary Ann, I am truly saddened to hear of Ray's passing. I considered Ray a friend, colleague and fair competitor in business. It was a privilege to know and work with him over the years as a contractor and inspector. Ray was an asset to the plumbing profession; upholding its highest standards. He will be missed by his family and those of us in the plumbing design and engineering world that knew and dealt with him.

Having worked for several water systems in Clark County, I remember Ray best for coming out and chewing us out about something, then taking us under his wing as if he was our grandpa, and offering realistic solutions to our problem, then guide us until the problem was solved.  He WILL be missed!  He was an effective inspector, an efficient county employee, and was truly a good man.  God bless all of you.

So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I had some dealings with him over the years as an employee of the City of New Carlisle. We would meet at a repair site where a contractor or homeowner had completed a job, and we would view the job upon its completion. I enjoyed his observations. Some of the contractors wouldn't be so receptive in his visits, as they knew he had seen it all, and wouldn't be fooled or taken advantage of. 

He was a real character, an interesting ol' crust of a guy. He will be missed.
