Rich was my first cousin (my mother and his father were siblings) and I too remember the party at Rich and Carol’s home for Buttercup’s 90th birthday party. Their hospitality was so heart warming. I remember almost 12 years ago having dinner downtown with my daughter and seeing Rich and Carol having dinner at another table with a group of friends. I stopped and said hello and Rich and Carol interrupted their dinner and spent time catching up with me and my daughter. The last time I saw Rich was 4 years ago. We had dinner in Lebanon with my mother and daughter, my brother and another cousin and our spouses. It was such fun to enjoy each other’s company after so many years in between as our lives took us in many different directions. My heart felt condolences to Carol, Sharon and Sarah. I know you will miss Rich immensely. And I agree with Ellen Zinck. Rich’s smile is truly unforgetable.

Carol and family- I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking for all of you. My greatest memory is of the party at your house for Buttercup's 90th birthday and the birth of my daughter Amy on the same day. Your family was always so gracious and loving. I won't be able to attend the service for my dear cousin, but I will be there in spirit. Love and hugs to all of you.

Rich was my first cousin. We weren't close in age and didn't see each other often. Every time we were together, I always thought about how kind he was. Him and Carol were always so gracious and hospitable. Loved Rich and am sad he is gone.
Our love to Carol, Sharon, Sarah and the families.

Rich's smile. It was unmistakeable and the only way I would ever picture him in my mind. His relationship (and your entire family's relationship) with my brother Adam (as well as his wife and kids) was a beautiful blessing and something that only further endeared Rich to me and my family. From the early days of watching John and Adam play their music and live in the pure joy of that, to spending time together in Sanibel for Adam's wedding, and then navigating John's loss and life beyond, the deep relationship Rich and all of you have maintained with Adam and his family throughout all of life's stages has meant so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family as you navigate the path ahead. There is so much love and so many rich and beautiful memories to fuel and comfort you during this challenging time. But I know that will be small consolation to having him here. Peace be with all of Rich's family and friends. ~ Sarah (Dudding) Callihan & Family
