BERRY, Robert L. Age 85 of Dayton passed away peacefully on July 13, 2014 surrounded by family members. Bob served in the Army during the Korean War and was a graduate of the University of Dayton. He retired from DP&L in 1986 after 37 years service. Bob enjoyed reading, golfing, artistry, woodworking, playing poker and spending time with his family and friends. He was active in the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Kettering Rotary, Fairborn Rotary, Dayton Engineers Club and a charter member of the Robertann Rowdies. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Ethel (McKinney), his brother Joe and wife June, brother, Dan; sister, Hope Kane and her husband Bill. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rita (Deppen), his sister Shirley (Paul) Armentrout and sister-in-law Julie Berry. Children Bob (Pam) Berry, Becky (Doug) Tipton, Bill (Michele) Berry, Dan Berry, Jim (Lisa) Berry and Kathy (Paul) Wyatt. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren, Lauren (Vanni Bucci) Berry, Whitney Berry, Mathew Hanes, Doug Tipton, Michael (Emily) Tipton, Jackie Tipton, Jessica Tipton, Emily Berry, Erin Berry, Alex Berry, Brittany Berry, Breanna (Kareem Tawfik) Lustre, Allie Berry, Skyler Coleman, Brent Wyatt, Alec Wyatt and Jessica Wyatt. He was double blessed with 2 great grandchildren Luca Bucci and Dean Tipton. Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hill Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH. A memorial service will follow visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.
